Patients would need to take a few important key steps before anesthesia is administered. These include:
- Inform your dentist of any regular medications that you take
- Avoid eating or drinking 8 hours before your dental procedure is scheduled to begin
- Smoking should also be avoided 12 hours before the procedure
The anesthesia could typically result in some residual grogginess and slight disorientation so request a friend to drive you back home after the surgery. The doctor will make a thorough physical examination to ensure that you can be given anesthesia safely.
Our office uses a board certified anesthesiologist for all IV Sedation cases.
